Browser extensions to make life easier: click & Read and Ophirofox

Click & Read

Produced by CNRS, Click & Read is a browser extension (Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Edge) that provides access to the full text of publications when browsing web pages that mention documentary references (Google Scholar, publisher sites, Wikipedia, etc.).

Thanks to the reference's identifier (DOI, PMID), Click & Read gives immediate access to the publication as soon as the University of Montpellier has the resource, or as soon as the resource is open access (e.g. HAL).

The extension indicates access by its logo. Click on it to display the full-text document.

Install and configure Click & Read

To install the extension, follow the instructions on clickandread.inist.fr. Once installed, the Click & Read logo will appear in your browser bar. Click on it.

The "Unpaywall", "Istex" and "Panist" sources are already selected.
Add "Montpellier" to include subscriptions from the University of Montpellier:

If you have access to BibCnrs, you can also select your authorized domains.

Finally, activate the libraries in Google Scholar, and save.

Ophirofox

Ophirofox (Firefox, Chrome) is a browser extension that allows you to consult the full version of "subscriber-only" content when browsing nearly 20 press sites* (Le Monde, Libération, Courrier International...).

Ophirofox adds a " Read on Europressedienst" button to "subscriber-only" articles on these sites*.

Clicking on the button takes you to the authentication page (ENT login) and then to Europresse, where you can read the full article.
