Borrow a computer for the school year

To support you throughout your academic journey, the university libraries are offering laptop loans* for the entire academic year, starting September 8, 2025.

Eligibility: open only to students enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program at the University of Montpellier.

* PC or Chromebook

A Chromebook is a lightweight, fast laptop that runs on Chrome OS, an operating system developed by Google.
It differs from PCs (running Windows) and Macs (running macOS) in terms of its features and is primarily designed for online use. This means you won’t be able to install Windows or Mac software.

Important information:

This computer is on loan to you for the academic year. It is your responsibility to use it in accordance with the IT policy you agreed to when you created your UM IT account.

You are solely responsible for the operation of this computer. The University cannot provide maintenance or support in the event of a malfunction or breakdown. In the event of damage, you may be required to reimburse the cost of the computer.
We encourage you to regularly back up your documents and files to an external storage device (USB drive, hard drive, cloud, etc.).

Finally, please remember that you must return this computer as soon as you no longer need it for your studies, and no later than the return deadline that was provided to you, so that other students who need it can benefit from this service.
