Borrow a PC for the year

To support you in your studies, the university libraries are offering laptop loans* for the entire academic year, starting September 8, 2025.

Where?At the reception desk of your university library
Conditions: reserved for students enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program at the University of Montpellier.
Bring yourstudent ID cardto borrow items.

* PC or Chromebook

A Chromebook is a lightweight, fast laptop that runs on the Chrome OS operating system developed by Google.
It differs from PCs (running Windows) and MACs (running MacOS) in terms of its features and is primarily intended for online use. This means you cannot install Windows or Mac software on it.

Important information:

This computer is loaned to you for the academic year. You are responsible for using it in accordance with the IT charter that you accepted when you created your UM IT account.

You are solely responsible for the operation of this computer. The University cannot provide maintenance or support in the event of malfunction or breakdown. In the event of damage, reimbursement for the computer may be requested.
We encourage you to regularly back up your documents and files to an external storage device (USB flash drive, hard drive, cloud, etc.).

Finally, we remind you that you must return this computer as soon as you no longer need it for your studies, no later than the return date indicated to you, so that other students who need it can benefit from this service.
