UM Adopts Its Information Literacy Framework
On September 23, the Committee on Education and University Life (CFVU) unanimously adopted the University of Montpellier’s Information Literacy Framework. Developed by the Joint Documentation Service and enhanced through collaboration with the university’s academic units, this document provides a common framework for better understanding, teaching, and developing information literacy at the university.
In an era of information overload and transformations driven by digital technology and artificial intelligence, this framework clarifies the skills needed to search for, evaluate, analyze, and reuse information in a critical, ethical, and responsible manner.
Designed as a foundational tool, it will support teachers, librarians, and students, and can be utilized in the development of training programs, particularly as teaching models evolve in the future.
