The UM adopts its information literacy competency framework

On September 23, the Commission for Education and University Life (CFVU) unanimously adopted the University of Montpellier's information skills framework. Developed by the Joint Documentation Service and enriched by collaborative work with the teaching departments, this document provides a common framework for better understanding, teaching, and developing information literacy at the university.

In a context of information overload and transformations linked to digital technology and artificial intelligence, this framework clarifies the skills needed to search for, evaluate, analyze, and reuse information in a critical, ethical, and responsible manner.

Designed as a structuring tool, it will support teachers, librarians, and students, and can be used in the design of training courses, particularly during future developments of educational models.
