Initiated by the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris, the exhibition "Prototypes. From experimentation to innovation" presented at BU Sciences is the adaptation proposed by theUniversity of Toulouse and theUniversity of Montpellier to highlight the work of research laboratories in Occitanie.

These instruments, essential to scientific discoveries, are a crucial source for understanding how research works. They tell the behind-the-scenes story of the challenges, difficulties and trials and tribulations that go on in laboratories. Although they sometimes leave the laboratory bench to plunge into the corporate world and discover the path to industrialization, more rarely do they reach the shelves and display cases of museums or collectors, leaving a precious testimony for future generations.

Fortunately, the PATrimoine Scientifique et TEChnique Contemporain(PATSTEC) network is present throughout France, collecting, preserving and documenting these objects and passing on their stories, big and small.

Admission is free and open to all.
