What does this job entail?
A student employment contract allows you to balance a part-time job with your studies: you work on campus and can manage your time by prioritizing your studies. It’s up to you to choose the position that best fits your schedule!
To apply, you must:
- be enrolled at the University of Montpellier for the 2024–2025 academic year
- will be available, depending on the offer, from September or October 2024 through May or June 2025.
Activities
- Customer Service / Information
- Loan and return of documents and materials / assistance with using the self-service kiosk
- On-site assistance with using services (public computers, copiers, group study rooms, etc.)
- Monitoring of Reading Rooms
- Returning Paper Documents to Their Proper Place
- Reclassification of structures according to a predefined classification scheme
- Document Preparation
- Documentation of activities during the shift (head count, survey of participants’ backgrounds, assistance with statistical tracking)
- Depending on the location and specific duties, assist with opening and closing the university library with the help of regular staff and security personnel
- Participation in documentary film projects
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowing how to implement procedures and rules
- Be able to use (after training) the specialized software for lending documents and equipment
- Teamwork skills
- Sense of responsibility
- Good interpersonal skills
- Experience working with the public is a plus

BU RICHTER: 12 positions available, based on 2 profiles
1- WEEKDAYS (DAY AND EVENING SHIFTS) – 7 positions
Schedule: On-call duty Monday through Friday
- 6 hours per week during the day over 26 weeks
- and 10 hours per week during the day and in the evening, over 12 weeks (extended hours periods).

2- SATURDAYS AND EVENINGS – 5 positions
Schedule: 9 a.m. every Saturday from October 5 to May 23, 9 a.m.–7 p.m. (with a 1-hour lunch break) + 2 evenings per week from 6:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. for 12 weeks during the year (in the run-up to exams, open until 9 p.m.).

3- WEEKDAY DAY SHIFT: 4 POSITIONS
Workload: 10 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

4- SUNDAYS AND EVENINGS: 12 POSITIONS
Workload: The schedule calls for a 3-week rotation of 3 teams of 4 people. Each team works 2.5 shifts per week in the evening from 6:45 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (2 shifts of 3 hours and 45 minutes one week, 3 shifts of 3 hours and 45 minutes the following week) plus one Sunday out of every three from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (8 hours plus a 1-hour lunch break).

If necessary, the student employee may be asked to work an occasional evening shift at the Pharmacy Library (under the same terms and conditions).
2- UPM MEDICAL LIBRARY, DAYTIME HOURS MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY – 1 POSITION
Hours: 8 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Required availability: September 2, 2024, through June 13, 2025

3- EVENING PHARMACY SHIFT, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY – 5 POSITIONS

Salary: Based on the minimum wage (SMIC), with adjustments based on the specific work schedule.
Type of contract: Public-law contract with a probationary period depending on the contract’s duration and without a precarious employment allowance.
