What does this job involve?

The student employment contract allows you to balance your student job with your studies: you work on campus and can manage your time by prioritizing your studies. It's up to you to choose the profile that best suits your availability!

To apply, you must:

  • be enrolled at the University of Montpellier for the 2024-2025 academic year
  • be available, depending on the offers, from September or October 2024 until May or June 2025.

Activities

  • User reception / information
  • Loan transactions and return of documents and materials / assistance with using the self-service machine
  • Assistance with using on-site services (public computers, copiers, group study rooms, etc.)
  • Monitoring of reading rooms
  • Storage of returned paper documents
  • Reclassification of structures according to a predetermined distribution
  • Document equipment
  • Documentation of activity during the shift (counting those present, survey of origin, assistance with statistical monitoring)
  • Depending on the location and the job offer, you may be required to assist with opening and closing the university library, with the help of permanent staff and security guards.
  • Participation in documentary projects

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowing how to implement procedures and rules
  • Know how to use (after training) the specialized software for lending documents and equipment
  • Teamwork skills
  • Sense of responsibility
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with the public appreciated

BU RICHTER: 12 positions available, based on 2 profiles

1- WEEKDAYS FOR DAYS AND EVENINGS – 7 positions

Quota: office hours Monday through Friday

  • 6 hours per week during the day for 26 weeks
  • and 10 hours per week during the day and in the evening, over 12 weeks (extended hours periods).

Required availability: from September 2, 2024, to June 13, 2025

2- SATURDAYS AND EVENINGS – 5 positions

Quota: 9 hours every Saturday from October 5 to May 23, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (1-hour lunch break) + 2 evenings from 6:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. per week for 12 weeks during the year (before exams, open until 9 p.m.). 

Required availability: from September 23, 2024, to May 23, 2025

BU SCIENCES: 16 positions available, based on 2 profiles

3- DURING THE WEEK FOR THE DAY: 4 POSITIONS

Hours: 10 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

4- SUNDAYS AND EVENINGS: 12 POSITIONS

Quota: the schedule provides for a 3-week rotation of 3 teams of 4 people. Each team works two and a half shifts per week in the evening from 6:45 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (two shifts of three hours and 45 minutes one week, three shifts of three hours and 45 minutes the following week) + one Sunday in three from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (eight hours and a one-hour lunch break).

1- UPM MEDICINE BU EVENINGS FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY: 5 POSITIONS

Quota: 2 shifts of 6:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. per week, Monday through Friday, for a total of 8.5 hours.

Required availability: from September 2, 2024, to June 13, 2025

Recruitment level: starting from the third year of undergraduate studies

If necessary, student employees may occasionally be asked to work evening shifts at the Pharmacy Library (same working conditions).

2- UPM MEDICINE BU DAYTIME MONDAY TO FRIDAY – 1 POSITION

Hours: 8 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Required availability: from September 2, 2024, to June 13, 2025

3- PHARMACY OPEN IN THE EVENINGS FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY – 5 POSITIONS

General information:

Salary: based on the minimum wage, increased according to the hours worked.
Type of contract: public law contract with a trial period depending on the duration of the contract and without precariousness allowance.
