Last stop for the exhibition "La presse ancienne révélée"
The traveling exhibition "La presse ancienne révélée", produced by the associationOccitanieLivre & Lecture, made its last stop at Montpellier's BU Richter, from November 7 to December 9, 2016.
Since 2015, it has made stops in several cities to showcase the digitization of 76 titles of old regional and local press from Languedoc-Roussillon between 1786 and 1944. The Moniteur Judiciaire du Midi, for example, is now being brought out into the open, after decades in the collections of the BU Droit-Economie.
This exhibition, combining physical media and digital access, allows visitors to discover both the history of the press and this fabulous regional project to safeguard written heritage, as well as to better understand the challenges of digitizing old press.
On this occasion, you'll be able to discover some of the treasures unearthed from the press held in the various university libraries, and the exhibition will be accompanied by a number of events (screenings, quiz competitions, student participation...).
