Final stop for the exhibition “La presse ancienne révélée”
The traveling exhibition “La presse ancienne révélée,” organized bythe association Occitanie Livre & Lecture, made its final stop at the Richter University Library in Montpellier from November 7 to December 9, 2016.
Since 2015, the exhibition has traveled to several cities to showcase the digitization of 76 regional and local historical newspapers from the Languedoc-Roussillon region published between 1786 and 1944. The *Moniteur judiciaire du Midi* is thus being brought to light after decades in the archives of the Law and Economics Library.

This exhibition, which combines physical displays with digital resources, offers visitors the opportunity to explore both the history of the press and this remarkable regional project to preserve written heritage, while also providing a deeper understanding of the challenges involved in digitizing historical newspapers.
During the event, you’ll discover some treasures unearthed from the press and preserved in various university libraries, and the exhibition will be accompanied by a variety of activities (screenings, quizzes and contests, student participation, and more).
