Exhibition – Listening to Lines, Tracing Sounds
Presentation of Stéphane Clor’s residency: a graphic and video installation
As part of his artist residency at UM, Stéphane Clor, a musician and visual artist, is presenting a showcase of his work in partnership with the Faculty of Sciences, in the form of an exhibition that takes the shape of a sound map: an installation featuring his graphic scores and videos showcasing his musical works performed by the artist.
During several immersion periods throughout the academic year, Stéphane Clor met with faculty members and researchers from various scientific disciplines to gain inspiration and deepen his research into signs and an original musical language that operates according to its own mode of representation.
This artistic exploration was undertaken with university students through collaborative sessions focused on sound and graphic design, blending art and science. From this synergy, the artist presents an installation featuring his graphic scores and videos of his musical works, which he performs at various locations on the Triolet campus and in the botanical garden. Through this sound mapping, the artist also highlights various locations on the University of Montpellier campus.
