UM's BUs are recruiting students!
Apply for a student job in a BU of the University of Montpellier. You have until MAY 02 at 12 noon.
These job offers are aimed at students enrolled at the UM for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Who can benefit from student employment at BU?
A student employment contract allows you to reconcile your studies with your job as a student: you work on campus, and can manage your time while giving priority to your studies. It's up to you to choose the profile that best matches your availability!
To apply, you must :
- be enrolled at the University of Montpellier for the academic year 2025-2026
- be available without interruption from September 2025 until May or June 2026 (see offer details)
What for?
- Welcoming and informing users
- Loan and return documents and materials
- Help users use on-site services (public computer stations, copiers, group work rooms, etc.).
- Supervising reading rooms
- Organizing documents in the BU
- Equipping documents before they are made available in the BU
- Participate in monitoring BU usage (attendance counts, source surveys, statistical monitoring)
- Depending on locations and offers, take part in BU opening and closing operations with the help of regular and security staff.
- Participate in documentary projects on an ad hoc basis

Training in BU tools and services is provided after recruitment.
Compensation
The student contract is an hourly-rate contract.
All hours worked before 7pm are paid at the SMIC rate.
All hours worked between 7pm and 10pm are paid at the SMIC rate plus 20%.
All hours worked after 10pm, on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays are paid at the SMIC rate plus 50%.
Payment is made after the hours have been worked, on the basis of a statement validated each month by the employer, which means that remuneration is paid two months after the work has been done. Under this principle, hours worked in September 2025 are paid at the end of November 2025, and remuneration runs until July or August 2026, depending on the period covered by the profile chosen.
Type of contract
Public law contract with a trial period depending on the length of the contract, and without indemnité de précarité.

- Be in good standing with regard to the national service code of the country of which the candidate is a national

- 6 hours of daytime per week over 26 weeks

Shift pattern: the schedule provides for a 3-week rotation of 3 teams of 4 people. Each team works 2.5 evening shifts per week from 6.45pm to 10.30pm (2 x 3.45 hours one week, 3 x 3.45 hours the next) + 1 Sunday out of 3 from 10am to 7pm (8 hours with a 1-hour lunch break).
