Comics for better care
On June 13, 2025, on the joint initiative of the Montpellier Faculty of Medicine and the documentation service, the first "Comics for better care" meeting was held: Alice Baguet, Olivia Hagimont and Matthieu Blanchin, three authors who have recounted their experiences of illness in comic form, were invited to share their experiences and their point of view as patients with students and the general public.
This unique and original event highlighted the collaboration between the faculty's teaching teams and the University of Montpellier's librarians to include teaching on the human, ethical and social dimensions of the care-giver-patient relationship in the training of doctors.
The booklet published on the occasion of this event features a selection of "narrative medicine" comics that have been collected and made available for several years in the university medical libraries of Nîmes and Montpellier, as training aids for students, objects of study for practitioners and tools for raising awareness among all.
