Library services are adjusted throughout the year to align with the academic calendar. On this page, you’ll find all the important dates leading up to the start of the 2026 academic year.

Summer Closure

Due to the extreme heat, current conditions do not allow us to guarantee a comfortable environment in all areas of certain university libraries during the day.

Closure of the UPM Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nîmes Medicine University Libraries: Wednesday, July1, at 12:00 p.m. Closure of the Richter Library: Friday, July 3 at 12 p.m. Closure of the Dentistry and Béziers IUT libraries, and suspension of library services: Friday, July 17, in the evening Closure of the Nîmes IUT Library: Wednesday, July 22, in the evening Closure of the Montpellier IUT Library: Friday, July 24, in the evening

Are you preparing for the EDN exams? While the university library is closed, the school is opening dedicated study spaces.

Dental School
8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
BU IUT Montpellier
9 a.m. – 7 p.m., unchanged
BU IUT Béziers
7:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
BU IUT Nîmes
7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Starting July 6

Computer Equipment Loan

Last day to check out PCs and tablets (14-day loan period): Friday, June 19. Service resumes on Monday, August 24.
"PCs for My School Year" is scheduled to resume on Thursday, July 3. The equipment will be ready for the start of the school year. Loan services will resume on Monday, September 7.

Summer Loan, Unlimited

Borrow as many items as you like and keep them all summer long. Starting Monday, May 18, at the Science Library, and starting Monday, June1, at the other UM libraries (through Friday, July 17, in the evening).
Return date: starting September 7

Temporary Suspension of Services

PEB – Interlibrary Loan
Request form available through June 26, then starting August 24.
Delivery to partners guaranteed through July 10, then starting August 24.
