Registration is automatic.
Your student card / professional card serves as your library card in all the University of Montpellier's BUs:
- in the libraries of establishments under agreement (Université Paul Valéry, Universités Nîmes et Perpignan, ENSCM, IRTS, IPT)
- in the network of associated libraries: department, UFR, laboratory or Faculty of Education libraries, under certain conditions.

Undifferentiated loan
Is the document you need already on loan, or would you like to transfer a document from one BU to another? You can use the undifferentiated loan service.
Return your documents
You can return your borrowed documents at the BU reception desk when the BUs are open, and in the return boxes in front of the BUs outside opening hours (BU Sciences, BU Richter and BU UPM). Please note: due to the vigipirate "Urgence attentat" plan, return boxes are closed until further notice.
Please note: you are responsible for the resources and documents you borrow. Lost, stolen or damaged items must be replaced.

For users of the Université de Nîmes and the Université Paul Valéry Montpellier 3, use your student card.
For all others, you will receive a free reader's card at the BU reception desk, on presentation of the following documents:
- ID card
- Proof of school membership
- Proof of address less than 3 months old

You are an external reader
Registration takes place at a reception desk in one of the network's BUs and is valid for 1 year.
Registration takes place in several stages:
- You will need to present the following documents at a BU reception desk:
- ID card
- Proof of address less than 3 months old
- Proof of entitlement for readers benefiting from free or half-price tickets (see table below for cost of registration according to status).
- ID card
- We'll send you a link to the EsupPay online payment platform, depending on your status (see table of registration costs by status below).
- You pay online with EsupPay and receive a payment confirmation ticket.
- Bring your payment confirmation ticket to the BU reception desk to receive your card.

AFTER REGISTRATION, you can HAVE AN INTROVABLE DOCUMENT RETURNED TO THE MONTPELLIER UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES.
The document you are looking for is not in the University of Montpellier catalog: it can therefore be requested from another library in France or elsewhere in the world, via the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service. This service is subject to a fee and is only available to registered users (students and staff of the University of Montpellier, external readers).
