Registration is automatic.
Your student card/professional card serves as your library card in all University of Montpellier libraries:

  • in the libraries of affiliated institutions (Paul Valéry University, Nîmes and Perpignan Universities, ENSCM, IRTS, IPT)
  • in the network of associated libraries: departmental libraries, university department libraries, laboratory libraries, or libraries belonging to the Faculty of Education, under certain conditions.

Return of your documents

You can return borrowed documents to the library reception desk during opening hours, or to the return boxes located outside the libraries outside of opening hours (Science Library, Richter Library, and UPM Library). Please note: due to the Vigipirate "attack emergency" plan, the return boxes are closed until further notice.

Please note: you are responsible for borrowed resources and documents. Any borrowed items that are lost, stolen, or damaged must be replaced.

For users from the University of Nîmes and Paul Valéry Montpellier 3 University, you will use your student card.

For others, you will receive a free library card at the library reception desk upon presentation of the following documents:

  • ID card

You are an external reader

Registration takes place at the reception desk of any library in the network and is valid for one year.
It is carried out in several steps:

  • Please go to the reception desk of a university library with the following documents:
    • ID card
    • Proof of address dated within the last 3 months
    • Proof of eligibility for readers benefiting from free or half-price admission (see table below for registration costs according to status)
  • We will send you a link to the EsupPay online payment platform, depending on your status (see table below for registration costs according to status).
  • You will pay online on EsupPay and receive a payment confirmation ticket.
  • Please bring your payment confirmation ticket to the library reception desk so that we can issue your card.

After requesting a (free) account to obtain your login details, you can access the library's desktop computers. These allow you to work on site, connect to the internet, and access Office software. Follow the guide : the process takes about 15 minutes.

AFTER REGISTRATION, you can REQUEST A DOCUMENT THAT CANNOT BE FOUND IN THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES OF MONTPELLIER.

The document you are looking for is not in the University of Montpellier catalog: it can therefore be requested from another library in France or elsewhere in the world via the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service. This service is subject to a fee and is only available to registered users (students and staff of the University of Montpellier, external readers).
